2009-2010 PMCA Literary Forum

The Monthly Literary Forum is the PMCA High School English Department's response to the topic of extra credit - great literature to read and dicusss! Over four years of high school, the Literary Forum can yield exposure to and understanding of an impressive spectrum of great works--excellent preparation for college! See the entire forum list. Below are the books selected for the 2009-2010 school year.

Each work is discussed in two 90 minute sessions. You attend one, usually the fourth Monday and Tuesday of the month. Monday sessions are from 7:00-8:30 and are good for athletes and students involved in other after-school activities. Tuesday sessions are from 3:00-4:30 and are good for students with evening obligations or transportation problems. All high school students and faculty are welcome to participate..

To receive full extra credit (10 bonus points), a student must read the work carefully, participate in one of the discussions (arriving on time and staying for the entire Forum), and write a journal response within a week of the Forum.
