Veterans Day Commemoration
In 2007 PMCA continued the Veterans History Project interviews lead by History teacher Mr. Thomas Sorkness. View pictures of this event. Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz officially recognized PMCA in the House of Representatives in Washington D.C. as one of four schools in the 13th Congressional District of Pennsylvania that has participated in the project. PMCA's official recognition was then entered in Congressional Record for the day. (view text of the record)
In 2006 Mr. Thomas Sorkness organized the 11th and 12th graders at PMCA in conducting video and audio interviews of veterans which are collated under the Veterans History Project. See pictures of the event.
2005 marked the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII. In view of this milestone, PMCA hosted a special Veterans Day Celebraion. Over 60 veterans were honored at PMCA
with an all day Veterans Day Celebration involving the whole school. Check out the pictures of the event. See pictures of each veteran and their student hosts.
