International Day
Where can our High School students go to eat food they've never tried before?
Where can they go to sample German, Spanish, African, Korean and
Eritrean food and food from other countries all during the same meal?
If you answered PMCA's gym, then you are correct. This coming Monday,
March 15, during lunchtime the PMCA Culture Club will sponsor
International Day. The purpose of International Day is
to have the experience of
eating new foods, to celebrate our diversity and to raise money to support the
Senior Missions Trip.
Parents of High School students - here's
some important information about International Day -
- If your
highschooler is bringing in food that has to be kept hot, please use a
crock pot or email Mrs. Askey as
soon as possible. It would be very helpful if your highschooler also brought in
a serving utensil for his dish.
- The cost to eat lunch at International
Day on Monday is $2.00. All proceeds are going to support the Senior
Missions Trip. An assembly will take place before the
lunch during which the
members of the Missions Trip team will explain why they are participating and what they will be doing while they are in Arizona.
- Normal dress code rules apply that
day with one exception. If a student has a culturally correct, modest and
appropriate outfit from another country he is allowed to wear that outfit that
day. That means no blue jeans!! If a student has a shirt from another country,
that shirt must be paired with uniform pants.
Time Change
Daylight Saving Time returns this weekend. Remember to set your clock ahead one hour on Saturday night.

Sports Update
PMCA's
Boys Varsity Baskeball team beat Christopher Dock last
Friday to advance to the play-in round of the PIAA State play-offs.
They faced MMI Prep on Tuesday night at home before a packed house.
They almost pulled off a victory but were beaten in the final seconds
of a very exciting game. We congratulate them on a successful season
and on PMCA's first representation at the PIAA State level
in basketball.
Spring sports are just over the horizon. Varsity players began workouts
this week, and tryouts for middle school baseball and softball take
place next Thursday and Friday. A full slate of track and field, boys tennis, baseball and softball games will be starting soon.
