Race for Education

Tomorrow is the day we've all been waiting for! Race day is finally here! The weather looks to be ideal for the race. Although much of the track is shaded, sunscreen is still a good idea, especially for those racing later in the morning. Students who occasionally have breathing difficulties should be sure to have inhalers with them. Dress code for the entire school is modest. Shorts of appropriate length, jeans or sweats with no holes or tears are acceptable to be worn with the Race for Education T-shirt which each student should have received yesterday or today.

Remember, a free hot dog and hamburger lunch is being provided for all students by O'Neill's Catering. Elementary students have preselected their choices and they will be eating on the hill during the last race of the day. The Middle and High School picnic lunch will be served after their race is over. Parents are welcome to come and watch and cheer on the runners at any or all of the races. The times are:

Pre-K - 2nd Grade     9:00 - 9:45

3rd - 5th Grade       10:15 - 11:15

6th - 12th Grade     11:30 - 12:30

Thank you to the many parent volunteers who have already helped out with preparations or who will be helping out with the race tomorrow. Thank you also to those who have sent in contributions; our total has passed the $30,000 mark! We couldn't have done it without you!

Senior Mission Trip Presentation

Please plan now to join us on Friday, May 7 at 7:30 pm in the Hamel Auditorium, when
members of the Senior Mission Team will be making a presentation of their experience serving at the San Carlos Apache Reservation.

PMCA Scrip

PMCA Scrip is a program operated by the school through which you can buy gift cards to use at local and national merchants and receive rebates on your purchases.

How it works
1. Sign up by clicking here.
2. Purchase gift cards for your favorite stores through the scrip program.
3. PMCA credits the savings towards your tuition.

Through PMCA Scrip you gain access to a large number of retailers who have agreed to sell their cards at discount through the Scrip program. You buy the cards from us at face value and we return the discount to you in the form of a cumulative yearly rebate (minus a 20% administrative fee). For more information, click here.

Teacher Luncheon

The Middle School parents are providing a luncheon for the faculty and staff next Friday following our noon dismissal. A sign-up sheet was emailed to all middle school parents last Friday. If you are able to help out but have not yet responded, please contact Kathy Cole no later than next Monday, April 26. Click here if you need another copy of the form.

Job Opportunity

The upcoming retirement of Mr. John Davis means that PMCA is left without a Facilities Manager. We are looking to fill this position as quickly as possible, so that John's successor can have the benefit of working with him in order to learn the idiosyncracies of the Hillcrest facility. A job description has been developed which is available on the PMCA website or by clicking here. If you know of someone who meets the qualifications and is interested in this position, please encourage him to contact Al Chapman

PMCA Fine Arts Festival - Volunteers Needed

The Fine Arts Festival begins just a month from now, and plans are well underway. Volunteers are still needed for the
‘Story Telling Hut’ that will be set up on Saturday, May 22.

Maybe your gift is dance and rhythm. We are looking for dancers and rhythm percussionists who can help us weave this year’s theme, “Rhythms of Africa” into the art made and performances experienced. Parents and friends who have a special interest in Africa as a culture also are invited to display objects, present an experience or share in the planning of this celebration of African culture and art. Please contact Matt Stemler if you'd like to be a part of this event.
